We received a call from the vets last night at 11.30pm asking if I could take a badger that had been hit by a car. The badger was suffering from sever concussion and could not stand, but no other injuries could be found. The vet had seen worse cases of this recover, so we said we would take her. I and Julie my wife and my driver Sally, went to collect her at 7.30am in the morning as the vets where closed for the day, as they only cover night shifts for the area. When we got there. the vet showed me the badger who had come round some from when they called the night before. But she still could not stand and her head was wobbly, she had had a pain killing injection and steroid injection as well. This helps the swelling in the brain to go down, so we took her to our recovery pens and left her there in a nice straw bed with food and water. We went back tonight to see her and give her another steroid injection. She was looking a bit better so hopefully she will recover, but this may take several weeks but all we can do is wait and see.

Picture taken this morning. she is eating well and seems to be more aware of her suroundings...fingers crossed.
