William July1st Carnevas

William had taken full advantage of hiding places at a caravan site to avoid capture - scooting from under one van to the next.Eventually, with the use of a grasper, he was captured. If only they understood we are trying to help! Suffering with fly strike in bite wounds, William was rescued in time to receive life - saving treatment. After his wounds had healed William was able to be returned to the wild, five weeks later.

Jack July 11th Flushing

A badger cub was found on a driveway. He seemed to have tumbled down a bank and could not climb back up. A badger run followed the length of this bank and the poor chap had obviously been unable to return home with his family. We took the cub for a vet check, no injuries found except hind leg weakness which seemed to be due to malnutrition, he was very thin. Given some anti - inflammatory treatment in case of back injury from the fall, Jack came home to recover.

Jill July 13th Flushing

Another baby badger, same place, same condition! Jacks little sister had come to grief in exactly the same way. After a precautionary check at the vets, Jill was reunited with her brother.

Kevin July 13th Mount Edgecombe Park

Another badger cub found in a similar condition, weak from lack of food, had been found by park rangers at Mount Edgecombe. The RSPCA rendevoused with us at the St. Columb Centre and we brought the little guy back home

All three cubs were tested for Bovine Tb and Coccidia and had negative results. They then transferred to Secret World.

Kim July 22nd Kemyel Crease

This badger cub had been hiding in a carport for a couple of days. We attended and found another casualty of the dry weather, a undernourished and weak cub. After recouperating with good food Kim had his blood tests done. With the negative results Kim was transported to Secret World.
