Thomas  Dec 5th  Perranporth

An RTA taken to the vets by the RSPCA suffering from head trauma and a nasty gash under the chin. We transported Thomas to the barn and settled him in a pen to give him time to recover. Thomas gave us some concern as initially he simply slept and showed no interest in food. Further treatment of antibiotics and more pain relief seemed to help and eventually he regained his appetite. Thomas was the largest badger we have had in care to date - he weighed over 15 kg on admission. He was returned  and released after a month in care.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Figgy  Dec 21st  Hayle

A small, underweight hedgehog had been found and taken in by a kind couple at Hayle. As Christmas approached, with family guest on the horizon, Figgy needed new accomodation. The winter weather had caused problems for hedgehogs and the rescues were full so we agreed to take him in. He needs to be fed and kept warm to prevent hibernation as he is to small to survive. Figgy will be released in the spring.
