RESCUES
May 27th 2008
I received a phone call first thing in the morning from the RSPCA, asking if I could take a badger that had been rescued and then re release it that night. So the badger was delivered to me an hour later and kept it in my shed till night fall. The badger had fallen off a ladies wall into an enclosed garden and had hurt its hind leg and had a bite on his rump. So it was taken to the vets for treatment, where he was examined and found to have just a bruised leg and a small bite. He was given a pain killing injection and a long lasting antibiotic.
At 9pm that night myself and Lynn, one of my drivers returned the badger from where he came from. Once he got the scent of home he became very aggitated and could not wait to get free. On opening the cage he took off at great rate without a backward glance. But it was nice to see him back home and ok so a good result this, hope to have more like it.
